Know about New Zealand Eligibility Criteria for Investor Visa

The country has separate eligibility requirements for each kind of visa. Criteria for investor visa include:

  • Investor’s age has to be 65 or below.
  • He must have business experience of minimum 3 years with at least 25% ownership in business and management activities.
  • He is supposed to invest minimum New Zealand $ 1.5 million within four years.
  • The amount of settlement funds required is New Zealand $ 1 million, this amount doesn’t need to be transferred.
  • Investor should be able to use competent level of English and he/she will have to go through an English Test, i.e., International English Language Testing System, popularly known by its abbreviation (IELTS). Immigrant investor will have to score anything above qualifying marks.
  • Knowledge of English Language criteria apply on partner and children of investor as well.
  • Health criteria are same for investor and other family members immigrating with him.

He will have to submit an expression of interest form (EOI), which shows his eligibility points with each criterion. The immigration department of the nation can approve 300 residence applications under investor category per year. Applications with highest eligibility points are invited for further processing.

In residence application investor will have to attach evidences proving that the investment capital and settlement capital is owned by him and his partner and/or his children. Applicant is required to show evidences proving that the capital he is willing to invest is lawfully earned and is transferable through banking.

Investor must not get the money transferred through foreign exchange Company using the banking services as it will not be accepted by the concerned immigration department. Cash transactions are also not acceptable. Transferred should be traceable. One can consider it to be one of the requirements for investor visa.

There is another visa program under which one can apply is Investor plus visa program. This is for those visa applicants who are willing to invest minimum New Zealand $10 million and would like to apply for residence visa as well. Under Investor plus visa application, immigrant can directly apply for residence visa.

Health and character are two eligibility parameters which have to be followed by every residence under the application. By character requirement, it means that one should have a clean police record, and it also assures that applicants were never excluded from any country. Character check is for everyone above the age of 17 years willing to visit the nation.

New Zealand’s eligibility criteria for investor visa ensure one’s will and ability to invest and establish an enterprise. It also keeps in mind the safety and security of the country. This eligibility criterion insures that the involved person is capable of interacting and carrying on all the business and management activities in the country.
